Festive Fun Finale!

Thank you to everyone who took apart in our NED Festive Fun this year, as always the response was fantastic and with the votes all in and counted here are the results.

And we can now reveal which of our festive foals turned into the competition horse ... the correct answer was ... foal 5!

The foal with the most votes is also an eventing bred foal so well done for picking up the potential, but the cute chestnut colt standing with his dam turns into Sir Suave, a graded eventing stallion by thoroughbred sire Revolution. Were you one of the 15% who spotted the similarities? - here they are side by side with the festive disguise removed.

National Equine Population Project

The Animal Health Trust is running the National Equine Population Project, which is trying to determine the number of missing and obsolete horse passports in the UK. Part of this project is the Horse Population Survey, which will be asking horse owners to verify the accuracy of data held about their horse, so we can work out if horse passport data provides a true representation of the horse population.

Loaning a Horse?

Protect yourself and your horse by making sure it's passport and identification details are correct and complete on NED before you put your horse or pony out on loan.

Buying a Horse?

Run a NED Passport Check before you buy a horse. Passport details can all be checked to help you confirm the horse's identity and it will alert you if the horse has been reported to NED as lost, stolen or missing on loan.
